Head of Fraud and Risk Analytics

Turn shadow-mode data into rules issuers trust enough to switch on.

The role

Every new rule starts in shadow: it decides on live traffic but changes nothing, so we can show an issuer exactly what it would have stopped. Your work decides when a rule is ready to enforce and how it is tuned.

You will own how we measure fraud caught, good customers challenged and how quickly they answer, and build the analytics team behind it.

What you will do

  • Own the measurement of catch rate, challenge rate and false positives for every rule and every issuer.
  • Own the scoring behind the scam check, keeping it explainable to issuers and auditors.
  • Own the reporting issuers see before and after they move a rule from shadow to enforce.
  • Track how fraud and scams change, and turn findings into rule changes with engineering.
  • Hire and lead the fraud and risk analytics team as we scale.

What you bring

  • Seven or more years in fraud, risk or financial crime analytics at an issuer, processor, fintech or vendor, including leading analysts or data scientists.
  • Strong SQL and Python, and sound judgement on statistics with imbalanced, delayed labels.
  • The ability to explain a model or rule to a risk committee in plain language.

Good to have

  • Experience with authorised push payment or social engineering scams.
  • Experience with real-time feature pipelines.

Compensation

$80k–$105k base salary per year

Base salary in USD for the highest-cost locations. Pay is adjusted for where you live using local market data, and every offer is made inside the adjusted band. People in the same role at the same level are paid on the same scale.

How we hire
